Urban Chic is a son of Suave Richard out of Edgy Style, by Harbinger. After finishing fourth in the Satsuki Sho and a disappointing 11th in the Japanese Derby, Urban Chic bounced back to claim his first graded stakes win in the St Lite Kinen in his autumn debut. He then bloomed to victory in the final leg of the Triple Crown. Jockey Christophe Lemaire secured back-to-back G1 victories, following last week's win in the Shuka Sho, and achieved consecutive Kikuka Sho wins, having won last year with Durezza. For trainer Ryo Takei, this marked his first G1 victory.
