Sunrise Zipangu with Katsuma Sameshima on board won the G3 Miyako Stakes at Kyoto Racecourse on Sunday. Outrange finished second, a half-length behind the winner, and Lord Avenir came home in third, a neck behind Outrange. Sent-off favourite, Omega Guiness finished a disappointing 10th. The winning time was 1:49.7.

Sunrise Zipangu is a son of Kizuna out of Saimaa, by Zoffany. This is his second graded stakes title following his win in the Furaibo Sho at Morioka Racecourse.
