The favourite, Emperor Wakea, clinched his second graded stakes victory with a sharp finish from a forward position in the G3 Musashino Stakes, his first graded win since the Negishi Stakes in January. This victory also marked jockey Yuga Kawada's 2,100th career win with the Japan Racing Association. Kazu Petrin, the fifth choice in the betting, finished second, and Perriere, the fourth choice, came in third. The winning time was 1:36.0.
A jubilant Kawada praised his partner, saying, "After the warm-up, he settled nicely. Despite limited space, his natural ability allowed him to get through." With this win, Emperor Wakea secured a spot in the G1 Champions Cup (December 1st at Chukyo Racecourse). Although it was a commanding victory, Kawada added, "There's still room to reach his peak condition, and I'd like to get him there," showing high hopes for further improvement.
