Stunning Rose, sent off third favourite, returned to the winner's circle for the first time since the 2022 G1 Shuka Sho, to claim her second G1 victory in Sunday's Queen Elizabeth II Cup. Twelfth favourite Ravel was second and second favourite Wholeness finished third. Favorite Regaleira was fifth.

The world famous jockey Christian Demuro masterminded a brilliant comeback aboard Stunning Rose. After a good start, he marked the lead group of Conch Shell, Harper and Shinryokuka well. As Demuro said: "I was wondering what I was going to do out of the gate, but I was watching behind the group in front." He then took advantage of the downhill turn on the third to fourth corners and rocketed past in a single bound. He was in the lead in no time and quickly outpaced the rest of the field, crossing the line two lengths ahead of the runner-up.

Christian Demuro was proud of his first G1 victory since winning the Queen Elizabeth II Cup on Geraldina in 2022. "I thought my reason for coming to Japan this year was to win a G1." This was his fifth JRA G1 win in total.
