Sent-off favourite, Do Deuce with Yutaka Take on board won Sunday's G1 Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse. Finishing a neck behind the winner, second place was shared in a dead heat between Shin Emperor and Durezza. The winning time was 2:25.5.

The victorious Do Deuce boasts a pedigree of excellence as a son of Heart's Cry out of Dust And Diamonds, by Vindication. Following his triumph in the Tenno Sho (Autumn), where he secured a G1 victory for the fourth consecutive year, Do Deuce extended his winning streak by capturing his fifth G1 title in style.

All eyes are now on his final career start in the Arima Kinen, where he will aim for an autumn G1 sweep, a feat that would cement his legacy.

Jockey Yutaka Take, aboard for this historic win, notched his record-breaking fifth Japan Cup victory. His previous wins came with Special Week in 1999, Deep Impact in 2006, Rose Kingdom (promoted to victory after the winner's disqualification) in 2010, and Kitasan Black in 2016.
