Madison Girl, a 2-year-old filly by Kizuna out of Yankee Rose, is set to make her much-anticipated debut in Saturday's Race 5 at Kyoto Racecourse (1,800m turf). She was prepared with workouts on the slope course and woodchip track, so she clocked a comfortable 4F in 55.5 seconds with a sharp 12.3-second finish on the Ritto Training Center slope course this week.
Last week, she turned heads with an impressive workout on the woodchip track, completing 6F in 83.1 seconds, including a blazing final 2F in splits of 11.5 and 11.2 seconds, showcasing her explosive finishing speed.
While groom Fukunaga acknowledged that Madison Girl's development might not yet match that of her illustrious half-sister, last year's Triple Tiara winner Liberty Island, he remains optimistic, "She might not have the same level of maturity, but she's definitely got quality. It will be interesting to see how she performs in her current condition."
The younger half-sister of a star now steps out from the shadows, ready to make her mark.
