"World-class racecourse" Yutaka Take at the completion ceremony of the newly renovated Kyoto Racecourse

Yutaka Take on the right participated in the sake barrel-breaking ceremony

The completion ceremony of the new "Centennial Park Kyoto Racecourse" and preview of the facility took place on March 10th to mark a fresh start for horse racing in Kyoto.

The ceremony was attended by 280 people, including Seiko Hashimoto, the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's horse racing promotion parliamentary group, Takahisa Nishiwaki the governor of Kyoto Prefecture. Other attendees included Takahisa Tezuka, the chairman of the Japan Racing Trainers Association, and Yutaka Take, the chairman of the Japan Jockey Club.

Take praised the new facility, "This is a spectacular world-class racecourse we can be very proud of. My colleagues and I now must entertain the fans with quality performances. I'm excited for this new start for Kyoto Racecourse. For fans, please come and experience the racing at the new racecourse." The grand opening will be held on the 22nd of April.
