On December 22nd at Nakayama Racecourse, the four members of Japan's eventing team who claimed a historic bronze medal, Japan's first equestrian medal in 92 years, at this summer's Paris Olympics participated as the lead riders in the G1 Arima Kinen.
The eldest member, 48-year-old Yoshiaki Oiwa, updated his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) the same day. "Did everyone enjoy the Arima Kinen? The view from atop the lead horse was unforgettable and incredibly special. I'm so grateful to all the organizers and the horses. It was such a fun day!" he wrote, sharing photos from before and after the race.
In a follow-up post, Oiwa expressed further gratitude, "I hope to have the chance to come back here again someday. Many people congratulated me, and it made me so happy! Thank you for the warm cheers and support."
