A blueblood with ties to the Ryo Takahashi stable is poised to make a rapid leap from maiden winner to graded stakes victor.

Large Gallery secured his first win in his fourth career start. His dam, Scarlet Color, was the 2019 Fuchu Himba Stakes champion, known for her exceptional turn of foot and strong presence on the graded stakes stage. "His running style is different, but he looks just like her," remarked groom Yamashita, who also cared for Scarlet Color in her racing days. "His dam is in the U.S. now, so I can't visit her, but I'm thrilled to have her offspring here with us," he said, watching the colt with a warm gaze.

Although it took some time for Large Gallery to break his maiden, his upward trajectory has been steady. Trainer Ryo Takahashi reflected, "In his debut, he didn't take the bit, and in his third start, he pulled too hard the whole way." However, when dropped back to a mile in his last race, the colt settled perfectly and unleashed a powerful finishing kick in the stretch, leaving his rivals three lengths behind. "He's learning a lot with each race. He's a quick learner," Takahashi noted with satisfaction.

This will be Large Gallery's first graded stakes attempt. "The current tough going at Chukyo should suit him better than a fast track," the trainer explained, revealing the rationale behind this race choice. "I believe he has plenty of ability," he added confidently. Following in the footsteps of his illustrious dam, Large Gallery is aiming to secure his first graded stakes title.
