The G3 Kyodo News Cup winner and G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) placegetter, three-year-old colt Phantom Thief will be heading to the Japanese Derby, teaming up for the first time with legendary jockey Yutaka Take.

Take won the Japanese Derby last year with Do Deuce after finishing third in the Satsuki Sho. This year is his 34th start in the famous race, and he has a lifetime haul of six victories.
