Coming from behind, Yutaka Take guided Sekifu to victory in Sunday's G3 Elm Stakes. World Tachyon finished second and Roche Lobe came home in third. It was his second graded stakes victory and his first in the last 13 starts.

Winning jockey Take reflected, "He was good. Our plan was to bring him outside in the home stretch. I was thinking the pace will be quick after looking at the runners so we travelled with our pace and that worked out." On the future of Sekifu, he commented "After riding him this race, he can go for more on dirt even though he's four years old."

Sekifu is trained by Koshiro Take who is Yutaka Take's younger brother. Yutaka expressed his joy riding a winner for him, adding, "I am really glad to win the graded stake for him and for me. We will try to achieve this next week as well."
