In the first race at Niigata on the 3rd, Christophe Lemaire, guided race favourite, Rouge Suerte, to victory. Securing his ninth consecutive JRA season with 100 wins.

In 2023, following Yuga Kawada, he becomes only the second jockey to reach this milestone. Lemaire said, 'Thanks to the owners, trainers, and stable staff, I can ride good horses. When you ride good horses, it's an easy job, so I'm grateful to everyone. This year, I was able to achieve 100 wins with good pace. I'll do my best in the autumn races, so please support me'.
