Namura Clair leads the field in the first Grade 1 of this fall racing season, the Sprinters Stakes. Here are the horses that could become a fall sprint champion.

Namura Clair is the projected betting favourite in the race having won four graded stakes over the race distance. The daughter of Mikki Isle finished second in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen and won the G3 Keeneland Cup in her last start. She will aim for a first G1 triumph with Suguru Hamanaka.

Aguri will aim to bounce back from underwhelming G1 starts both in Japan and Hong Kong. Aguri will partner up with Norihiro Yokoyama for the first time in the Sprinters Stakes. He is expected to race from the rear as he showed off an incredible turn-off-foot in the last three furlongs in his last start.

A full-sister to Sodashi, Mama Cocha finished second in her last start in the G3 Kitakyusyu Kinen. She will team up with Yuga Kawada for the first time for her first start in G1 company.

Other notable runners are Jasper Krone, winner of the G3 CBC Sho and Kitakyushu Kinen. Pixie Knight, winner of the G1 Sprinters Stakes in 2021. Mozu Meimei, winner of the G2 Tulip Sho, and lastly Kimiwa Queen, winner of G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes.
