Durezza produced a dominant display to beat the G1 Kikuka Sho field despite the huge support for Sol Oriens and Tastiera. Christophe Lemaire guided Durezza beautifully to win three-and-a-half lengths ahead of Tastiera. Sol Oriens finished third one-and-a-half lengths behind Tastiera. The winning time was 3:03.1.

Durezza is a son of Duramente out of More Than Sacred, by More Than Ready. This is his fifth win in a row and also the final leg of the Classics. His sire Duramente also produced a G1 winner two weeks in a row, as he's also the sire of Liberty Island who won the G1 Shuka Sho.
