Equinox, with Christophe Lemaire aboard, won the G1 Tenno Sho (autumn) by two and a half-lengths, at Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday, 29th October. The winning time was 1:55.2, 0.9 seconds faster than the JRA track record.

Equinox added the first-place prize of 220 million yen to his already remarkable career earning tally. His total prize money earned now stands at 1,711,582,100-yen, surpassing Orfevre for sixth place in Japanese rankings. Connections have made clear their intention to next run in G1 Japan Cup, scheduled November 26th. If he wins the race, as he is widely expected to do so, and claim the 500-million-yen prize, he will move to the summit of the illustrious rankings table.
