Jockey Ryan Moore was initially reported to have injured his back after being dislodged from his mount in the second race at Kyoto on November 19th. He is expected to resume riding this week after X-rays revealed that the injury was not serious.

He was stood down for the remainder of the day on the 19th, missing seven rides throughout the card. "It was a racing incident, but JRA took care of me. It's a shame I couldn't ride, including in the G1, but I'm already pain-free and in good spirits," said Moore. In the Japan Cup, he will be paired with Vela Azul, who is aiming for back-to-back wins.
