Sunday Thoroughbred Club has announced that Shahryar has been withdrawn from the G1 Hong Kong Vase after being diagnosed with an irregular heart beat. Trainer Hideaki Fujiwara appealed the decision made by the vets but it was not overturned.

He commented, "The regulation is different from Japan and that vet result is fine in Japan but was not in Hong Kong. It is just a different environment."
