Sunday Thoroughbred Club announced on its website on December 18th that Grenadier Guards, winner of the 2020 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, will retire after the Hanshin Cup. He will commence stud duties for the upcoming 2024 breeding season.

Grenadier Guards debuted in Niigata in July 2020 and won the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes in his fourth race that year with Kawada onboard. Grenadier Guards will team up with Ryan Moore for the first time in this year's Hanshin Cup.
