Will Shin Emperor be crowned as the unbeaten 2yo G1 winner in the G1 Hopeful Stakes this weekend? Here are the main contenders for the Hopeful Stakes.

Bauyrzhan Murzabayev will be taking the reins of Yoshito Yahagi-trained Shin Emperor in his first start in G1 company. The full-brother to Sottsass won the G3 Kyoto Nisai Stakes in fine style last time out.

Gonbade Qabus is the winner of the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup beating Strauss and Bond Girl. The 2000m trip is somewhat of a concern for this horse, Kohei Matsuyama will aim to guide him to the winner's enclosure.

Regaleira will partner up with Christophe Lemaire and will aim to bounce back from a third-placed effort in the Listed Ivy Stakes.

Other notable runners include unbeaten Open Class winner Velociraptor, two-time winner Century Bond, and Open Class Fuyo Stakes winner Sirius Colt.
