Blow the Horn won the G2 Nikkei Shinshun Hai with an eye-catching finish at Koyoto Racecourse. Savona finished second and Satono Glanz came home in third.

Under Akira Sugawara, Blow the Horn made an astonishing run from behind in the homestretch and was produced to perfection by Sugawara to win a first graded stakes title.

Winning jockey Sugawara commented, "I am so happy to win a graded stakes for trainer Eiji Nakano who will retire in February. This race was the latest and probably will be the last chance to run in a graded stakes for trainer him, so I am relieved. This is a great start to the year."
