The ownership group of the 2023 G1 Japanese Derby winner Tastiera announced on the 29th of February that the G1 Osaka Hai will be the first race for their Classic hero in his 2024 campaign.

He was placed in all three Classics last year including that memorable Derby win, and finished off the year with a sixth-place finish in the G1 Arima Kinen before heading to pasture. He came back to the training centre on the 24th and connections turned down an invitation for the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic. Kohei Matsuyama is set to take the reins in the Osaka Hai.
