Mad Cool with Ryusei Sakai on board won the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen at Chukyo Racecourse. Namura Clair finished second a head behind the winner and Victor the Winner from Hong Kong came home in third three lengths behind Namura Clair. Sent-off favourite Lugal finished disappointing 10th. The winning time was 1:08.9.

Mad Cool is a son of Dark Angel out of Mad About You by Indian Ridge. Irish-bred five-year-old finally won his first G1 title.
