Masato Yoshii, manager of Chiba Lotte Marines in the Nippon Professional Baseball League scored a victory outside a ballpark as Lysine won his first race at Hanshin Racecourse after moving to the JRA from the NAR.

After a game in Nagoya, Yoshii commented "I am glad to see him win as a lot of people were cheering for him." During an interview after the race, winning jockey Hideaki Miyuki commented "We have been friends for a long time since Mr. Yoshii used to play in MLB in the US. I am privileged to ride for him." Trainer Hiroshi Miyamoto added "I will gift this bib to Mr. Yoshii. For the future plans, we will see after he recovers from this race." He said with a big smile.
