Satono Carnaval, the favourite, became the first of his generation to claim a graded stakes victory. Breaking well from barrier number 7, he settled comfortably in fourth position during the race. Gradually moving up before the final turn, he showcased a powerful finishing kick in the stretch to secure a come-from-behind victory, maintaining his unbeaten record with two consecutive wins and a graded stakes title.

This victory also marked jockey Daisuke Sasaki's first graded stakes win. "I'm grateful to trainer Noriyuki Hori and owner Hajime Satomi. I only rode him once during training but I felt he was an exceptional horse. Opportunities like this are rare, so I was determined to make the most of it," said Sasaki, wiping the sweat from his brow. Trainer Hori, who already won the G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes with Satono Reve, celebrated his second graded stakes victory in Hakodate this year.
