Namura Clair performed track work at the Ritto Training Center under her new partner, jockey Takeshi Yokoyama, ahead of the G1 Sprinters Stakes. She powered up the slope course, leaving On the Double behind and clocking an impressive 4F in 50.4 seconds, with 37.1 and 12.0 seconds splits, finishing two-and-a-half lengths ahead.

After his first sit on her, Yokoyama shared his positive impression, "I've always thought she was a good horse from watching her, but after actually riding her, she was even more powerful than I imagined. In a good way, she felt different from how I expected."

The pairing came together unexpectedly after her regular jockey, Suguru Hamanaka, was suspended. Yokoyama, who had spoken to Hamanaka beforehand, added, "He mentioned that she used to be quite high-strung, but now she's much calmer and easier to ride. I didn't notice any issues with her temperament, so I feel confident."
