It was announced on the 19th that T O Royal, the 6-year-old winner of the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring), will team up with jockey Takeshi Yokoyama for the upcoming G2 Kyoto Daishoten (October 6th at Kyoto Racecourse). This change comes after his regular jockey, Yuji Hishida, sustained an injury from a fall. The news was confirmed by trainer Inao Okada.

Trainer Okada commented, "The split time during track work was better than expected. I thought he might be cutting it close, given it's his first race after a break, but he's coming along even better than we had anticipated."
