Shonan Someday, the fifth foal out of the famous mare Shonan Pandora, aims for a debut victory in the 2-year-old Newcomers race (1800m turf) at Sapporo Race 5 on Sunday.

Shonan Someday, a filly, boasts a pedigree that includes her sire Saturnalia, her dam Shonan Pandora, and her damsire Deep Impact. Her mother, Shonan Pandora, won the 2014 G1 Shuka Sho and the 2015 G1 Japan Cup. She hails from the illustrious Shiraoi Farm bloodline, which has produced notable horses like Soccer Boy, Stay Gold, Snow Dragon, and Balance of Game.

During her stay in Hakodate, Shonan Someday has been meticulously trained on both the turf course and the woodchip track. In her final workout on the woodchip track, she impressively outperformed an older, more experienced horse, confirming her excellent condition. She will be ridden by jockey Kenichi Ikezoe, who was also her mother's partner when she won the Japan Cup. Expectations are high for Shonan Someday to secure this win and take her first step towards success on the big stage.
