Jockey Hideaki Tsumura is set to compete in this weekend's graded stakes with strong contenders. On Saturday, he aims for a second graded stakes victory with Mi Anhelo in the G2 Shion Stakes, who won the G3 Flower Cup. This will be her first race since finishing 14th in the G1 Japanese Oaks. Tsumura evaluated her recent training, stating, "She moved well," and expressed confidence, noting, "She prefers right-handed tracks over left-handed ones," showing his optimism for a victory.

On Sunday, Tsumura partners with Ten Happy Rose in the G2 Centaur Stakes. In her last start, she delivered a powerful finish to claim both her and Tsumura's first G1 win in the Victoria Mile. "It was a strong race," Tsumura said, praising his horse.

In the lead-up to the race, he rode her in a track work session to gauge her condition. "When I saw her last week before riding, she looked even more impressive. She's developed a real sense of presence," he remarked on her progress. Following this race, Ten Happy Rose is scheduled to run in the G1 Breeders' Cup Mile. "I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to ride overseas, and I want to show something special there as well," he said, expressing his determination.

Tsumura has had a great year so far, joining the ranks of G1-winning jockeys in the spring, marking a pivotal moment in his career. Now, he looks to make his mark from the opening week of autumn racing.
