The Japan Racing Association announced on the 2nd that jockey Nanako Fujita will participate in the "Shergar Cup" at Ascot Racecourse in the UK on Saturday, August 10th. This will be her second appearance in the event, five years after her debut.

The Shergar Cup is a team competition featuring 12 of the world's top jockeys. To date, 14 jockeys from the JRA have participated: Masayoshi Ebina, Norihiro Yokoyama, Hiroki Goto, Yutaka Take, Yuichi Fukunaga, Hiroyuki Uchida, Yasunari Iwata, Kenichi Ikezoe, Keita Tosaki, Yuga Kawada, Nanako Fujita, Christophe Lemaire, Takeshi Yokoyama, and Kazuo Yokoyama.

For this year's event, Nanako Fujita will join the World Team, led by jockey Rachel King.
