Edel Krone, a 2-year-old colt with the illustrious Buena Vista as his granddam, is set to make his debut in Saturday's Niigata Race 5, over 1800 meters on turf.

Trainer Takahisa Tezuka expressed high hopes for the colt, stating, "He has the potential to become the leading horse among Fierement's offspring. He's gradually starting to resemble his sire, especially with that thick skin, just like his father," he added with a smile.

On the 7th, Edel Krone clocked 85.8 seconds for 6 furlongs, with splits of 38.1 seconds and 11.5 seconds, during his workout at the Miho Training Center woodchip track. "He's improving with each workout. This distance seems just right for him. If he can get into a good rhythm, he should be able to show up strongly in the finish," said Tezuka. The trainer is hopeful that Edel Krone will secure the first win for Fierement's progeny in the Japan Racing Association.
