Primo Sequence
In this weekend's Niigata Newcomers, all eyes will be on Primo Sequence, a 2-year-old colt by Epiphaneia out of the three-time mile graded stakes winner Primo Scene. Originally set to debut in June at Tokyo, the colt had to withdraw due to a minor leg swelling. However, he is back in shape and ready to make his first start in Sunday's Race 5 at Niigata over 1800 meters on turf.
Trainer Tetsuya Kimura commented, "He resembles his dam at the same age." Rider Ota noted, "He's still a bit immature, but he's moving well in his track works. While he has plenty to work on, we're hoping he can show his potential."
