The Japan Racing Association announced on the 15th that Kazuma Tomoto, a member of Japan's equestrian team who secured a bronze medal in the team eventing at the Paris 2024 Olympics, will appear as a lead horse rider for the G2 Sapporo Kinen.

Kazuma Tomoto, who is affiliated with the JRA's Equestrian Center, was part of Japan's equestrian team that earned the bronze medal in the team eventing competition held from July 27 to 29 at the Palace of Versailles during the Paris Olympics. This achievement marks the first time a Japanese equestrian team has won a medal in eventing and the first medal in equestrian sports since Takeichi Nishi won the gold in individual show jumping at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, 92 years ago. Individually, Tomoto finished 5th, following his 4th place finish at the Tokyo Olympics, marking his second consecutive top-5 finish at the Games.
