Magic Sands with Daisuke Sasaki on board won the G3 Sapporo Nisai Stakes at Sapporo Racecourse. Arma Veloce finished second, a nose behind the winner, and Feiern Kranz came home in third, one-and-a-half lengths behind Arma Veloce. The winning time was 1:50.3.

Magic Sands is a son of Kizuna out of Kona Brewers, by King Kamehameha. After winning the Newcomers in his debut, he remained unbeaten and won the first graded stakes title.
