This weekend features race meetings at both Chukyo and Nakayama Racecourses, with a three-day weekend of action due to Monday being a national holiday. Three graded-stakes races are on the schedule.

On Monday, September 16, the G2 St. Lite Kinen, a G1 Kikuka Sho trial, will take place at Nakayama Racecourse. Notable entries include Cosmo Kuranda, runner-up in the G1 Satsuki Sho, Urban Chic, who finished fourth in the same race, and Ecoro Walz, runner-up in the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes.

On Sunday, September 15, Chukyo Racecourse will host the G2 Rose Stakes, a G1 Shuka Sho trial. Among the entries are Regaleira, who won the G1 Hopeful Stakes and has performed well against colts in Classic races this year, Queen's Walk, who finished fourth in the G1 Japanese Oaks, and Tagano Elpida, the winner of the Listed Wasurenagusa Sho.

On Saturday, September 14, the G3 Hanshin Jump Stakes will go-to-post at Chukyo Racecourse, with entries like Neviim, an open-class winner on his last start.

Internationally, the G1 Irish Champion Stakes will be held at Leopardstown Racecourse in Ireland on the same day. Japan will be represented by Shin Emperor, a full-brother to Arc winner Sottsass and third-place finisher in the G1 Japanese Derby.
