On the 22nd at Nakayama Racecourse in Race 9, jockey Kosei Miura guided the second-favourite Keep Calm to victory in the 2 Win Class Kisarazu Tokubetsu, marking Lord Kanaloa's 1,100th win as a sire in the Japan Racing Association (JRA). This milestone makes Lord Kanaloa the 18th stallion in JRA history to achieve this feat.

Lord Kanaloa, sired by King Kamehameha and out of Lady Blossom (by Storm Cat), was a dominant sprinter during his racing career, securing six G1 victories, including becoming the first Japanese horse to win the Hong Kong Sprint. As a stallion, he has produced top-class performers such as the nine-time G1 winner and Hall of Fame inductee Almond Eye, Hong Kong Sprint champion Danon Smash, and Mile Championship victor Stelvio. His progeny, including Saturnalia, First Force, Panthalassa, Danon Scorpion, Brede Weg, Bellagio Opera, and Red le Zele, have thrived across various distances and surfaces, further cementing his legacy.
