Victor The Winner ready to conquer Japan under Joao Moreira in G1 Sprinters Stakes

Victor The Winner completed his solo workout on the turf track at Nakayama Racecourse on the 25th, cruising effortlessly under jockey Joao Moreira. The horse was kept under a tight rein the entire way, moving straight in the six-path of the track, finishing the final furlong in an impressive 11.6 seconds. "He's in great shape. His spirit is strong, and he felt amazing in the reins," Moreira said, confirming the horse's near-peak condition.

Victor The Winner is known for running well after a long break. He won the season-opening races in September both two years ago and last year in Hong Kong. Trainer C S Shum commented, "He's better when he's fresh. In the past two years, he's performed well after a break. Although he lost some weight after flying in, he was at 492 kg yesterday (the 24th), which is close to his best weight. He's in even better shape than for the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen, where he finished third."

While his last two races in Hong Kong resulted in heavy losses, Shum offered an explanation, "He was carrying a lot of weight, and fatigue had set in. In Hong Kong, he has to carry more weight, but here, it's a weight-for-age race." He also noted that the right-handed Nakayama layout is similar to Sha Tin. "And the best part? Joao Moreira will be riding him," Shum added with excitement. Everything is in place, and now it is up to the "Magic Man" to bring victory to Japan.
