The Hong Kong-based gelding Mugen completed his track work at Nakayama Racecourse on the turf track on the 26th. Originally scheduled for the 27th, the session was moved up a day due to weather concerns. Mugen worked alongside a companion horse, trailing initially before catching up in the stretch and finishing a length ahead.
Groom Leung explained, "The weather looked like it might take a turn for the worse, and there was a chance jockey Karis Teetan wouldn't make it in time for the workout, so we adjusted the schedule and completed the final track work." He added regarding Mugen's condition, "It was a perfect move, Mugen closed well in the stretch and finished strongly."
