The 6-year-old Chevalier Rose, a son of Deep Impact, claimed his first graded stakes victory in the G2 Kyoto Daishoten, despite being sent off as the 8th favourite. In a fast-paced race where the first 5 furlongs were run in 58.7 seconds, Chevalier Rose conserved his energy mid-pack. He unleashed a powerful finishing kick in the home stretch, narrowly overtaking the 4th favourite, Deep Bond, by a head at the wire. Deep Bond held on for second, while the 11th favourite, Meisho Breguet, finished third in the 11-horse field. The well-fancied Blow The Horn surprisingly finished last in 11th, leading to a huge upset with a trifecta payout of 1,419,720 JPY. The winning time was 2 minutes 22.9 seconds.

Jockey Yuichi Kitamura, who rode the winner, reflected on the race, "It was really close at the finish, so I'm glad we came out on top. I thought this horse would fight until the end, so I ideally wanted to be closer to the front, but he didn't move forward as I expected and we ended up in that position. Still, I wasn't too concerned about the horses around us. My horse found a good rhythm, and I focused on maintaining that." He added, "He felt really good going downhill, and I thought he would show his best, which he did. My horse and jockey Miyuki-san's were tough competitors, and it was a good race."

Kitamura also praised Chevalier Rose's consistency over longer distances, saying, "He's been very steady since he started racing over longer trips. He always tries his best, and I'm looking forward to seeing him perform like this again in the future."
