This weekend features racing at Tokyo, Kyoto, and Niigata racecourses, with two graded stakes on the schedule.
The highlight is Sunday's G1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) at Kyoto Racecourse. Danon Decile, who dominated the Japanese Derby with a two-length victory, is set to race, alongside Urban Chic, the winner of the St Lite Kinen, Cosmo Kuranda, runner-up in the Satsuki Sho and second in the St Lite Kinen, and Meisho Tabaru, who secured his second graded stakes win in the Kobe Shimbun Hai.
On Saturday, Tokyo Racecourse will host the G2 Fuji Stakes. Entries include Serifos, the 2022 Mile Championship winner returning for his first race since finishing fifth in the Yasuda Kinen, Soul Rush, a three-time graded stakes winner also coming off a third-place finish in the Yasuda Kinen, and the promising 3-year-old Gonbade Qabus, who placed fourth in the NHK Mile Cup.
