Last year's Triple Tiara winner, Liberty Island, has accepted an invitation to the G1 Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin Racecourse on December 8th, as announced on the Sunday Thoroughbred Club's website. She will be paired with jockey Yuga Kawada for the race.

Despite going off as the favourite in her fall season opener, the Tenno Sho (Autumn), Liberty Island finished a disappointing 13th. Initially, she was expected to target the G1 Japan Cup, but after considering the spacing between races and the distance, the team opted for the Hong Kong venture instead.
