Romantic Warrior and James McDonald won the G1 Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday. Liberty Island and Tastiera from Japan finished second and third respectively. The winning time was 2:00.51.

Romantic Warrior is a son of Acclamation out of Folk Melody, by Street Cry. The Champion of Hong Kong with G1 titles in Australia, Japan, and his home nation, won his sixth straight G1 victory and ninth G1 title. He also became the first horse in history to win three straight Hong Kong Cups.
