On the 4th a public unveiling ceremony was held at Northern Horse Park in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, for a bronze statue of the racehorse Equinox, created by sculptor Iwao Tsutsumi. Attending the ceremony were Katsumi Yoshida, President of Northern Horse Park, Tomoki Tsuda, General Manager of Northern Farm, and Tokutake, Manager of Shadai Stallion Station, among others.

The Equinox statue has been installed at the "Pony Terrace," an area that includes a pony paddock and an outdoor show arena. The name and location are said to originate from a comment made by jockey Christophe Lemaire after Equinox's victory in the G1 Japan Cup, when he described the horse as "smart, easy to ride, calm, like a pony."

President Yoshida commented with satisfaction in front of the newly unveiled statue, saying, "We wanted it to be placed where it can be seen by as many people as possible. I think we have created a wonderful bronze statue full of energy and presence."
