Takeshi Yokoyama guided Set Up to a commanding victory in the G3 Sapporo Nisai Stakes. This is his first graded stakes title and he showed his immense potential with a four-length demolition. Power Hall finished second with Gamble Room in third. The winning time was 1:50.5.

In a post-race interview, winning jockey Yokoyama reflected "He can be very eager to run and lose the concentration, but he is very easy to control and ride. He jumped out of the barrier quickly and took the inside position. The condition of the turf was far from ideal, so I am surprised by how he managed to win so easily." Trainer Shikato commented "I am glad that I was able to train a graded stakes winner other than Efforia. This brings up the moral of the yard. For the next race, I think I will send him to the mile race rather than 2000m."
