Connections announced on the 12th, that G1 Champions Cup winner Jun Light Bolt will retire and stand at Yushun Stallion Station for the 2024 breeding season. Trainer Yasuo Tomomichi explained "Japanese racing is going through a major reformation of domestic dirt racing. Jun Light Bolt will fill up the needs for the dirt sire and I thought this was the best timing to retire him and send him to the stud."

Jun Light Bolt won the first dirt-graded stakes for a veteran trainer Tomomichi and also a first dirt G1 title in the Champions Cup. He also challenged on the international stage in Dubai and Saudi Arabia before finishing seventh in his last race at home in the G1 Teio Sho.

Trainer Tomomichi reflected on the time with him "We have so many good memories with him. He won us a first dirt race title and allowed us to race overseas. He was also racing in the open-class turf races and that shows his high potential as an all-rounder racehorse. I hope his progenies will receive his potential and dominate in the dirt racing scene."
