The Japan Racing Association has announced that G1 Hanshin Sansai Himba Stakes winner Stinger has passed away at the age of 27 at Shadai Bluegrass Farm in Hokkaido.

Stinger made her racecourse debut in November 1998 trained by Kazuo Fujisawa. She earned her first and only G1 title in her third career start, to remain an unbeaten juvenile. She won five other graded stakes during her career. After her retirement, she produced black-type winner Satono Gallant.

Shadai Farm Manager, Mr. Azuma commented, "I am really glad that she was able to live happily and healthy until the age of 27. I am thankful for her for all the work she did during her career and I pray that she will rest in peace."
