Yuga Kawada guided Satono Glanz to a record victory in the G2 Kobe Shimbun Hai, a G1 Kikuka Sho trial, in a course record of 2:23.5. Savona finished second with Phantom Thief in third. The top three finishers are awarded automatic entry in the G1 Kikuka Sho.

Winning jockey Kawada reflected "He did such a good job in the home straight. It was powerful and I could feel his growth and maturity. He is even better now after the summer and still has room to grow. I hope everything will go as planned until the Kikuka Sho."
