The 2-year-old colt Strauss was ridden to victory by Joao Moreira in Saturday's G2 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes, the pair scoring by one-and-a-half lengths ahead of Schwarze Kugel. Meanwhile, Fervent came home in third a nose behind Schwarze Kugel. The winning time was 1:46.5. Sent off favourite, Forlanini finished a disappointing eighth.

Strauss is a son of Maurice out of Blumenblatt, by Admire Vega. This is his first graded stakes title.
