Danon McKinley with Yuichi Kitamura on board pulled off an upset in the G3 Falcon Stakes at Chukyo Racecourse. Orchid Romance finished secon, a half-length behind the winner, and pre-race favourite Sonshi came home in third, two lengths behind Orchid Romance. The winning time was 1:20.2.

Danon McKinley is a son of Maurice out of Homecoming Queen, by Holy Roman Emperor. This is his first graded stakes title after bouncing back from finishing fifth in the Listed Crocus Stakes.
