Soul Rush, the fourth favourite, delivered a commanding performance in the G1 Mile Championship, surging powerfully down the stretch to secure his first G1 title with an impressive 2 1/2-length victory. Elton Barows, a 7th favourite, ran well to finish second after racing prominently, while the 10th favourite, Win Marvel, closed strongly to claim third. The winning time was 1:32.0.
Jockey Taisei Danno celebrated with an emphatic fist pump as he crossed the line, expressing his elation later: "It feels absolutely amazing," he said. Reflecting on the race, he added, "I didn't expect to get such a good position early on, but with this incredible G1 field, I knew we might struggle to keep up with the early pace. The race unfolded perfectly for us with a smooth run into the straight, and he showed such power when he surged to the lead."
For Soul Rush, this victory was the culmination of perseverance, having finished second in last year's Mile Championship and fourth the year before. It was his seventh attempt at a G1 title, and Danno was proud to guide him to this breakthrough win. "Being entrusted with this ride meant so much to me, and I approached the race with the mindset that I absolutely had to deliver. I'm thrilled we got the result we worked so hard for," Danno said, wiping away the sweat of a job well done.
