Regaleira with Keita Tosaki on board won the G1 Arima Kinen at Nakayama Racecourse. Shahryar finished second, a nose behind the winner, and Danon Decile came home in third, one-and-a-half lengths behind Shahryar. The winning time was 2:31.8.
Regaleira, a 3-year-old filly by Suave Richard out of Roca by Harbinger, claimed a spectacular victory in the G1 Arima Kinen, earning her second G1 title. After defeating colts in last year's Hopeful Stakes, she faced challenges in this spring's Satsuki Sho (6th) and Japanese Derby (5th). The autumn campaign brought further frustrations with fifth-place finishes in both the Rose Stakes and Queen Elizabeth II Cup. However, Regaleira delivered on the grand stage at Nakayama to secure her place in history. Her victory marks only the second time in history, and the first in 64 years, that a 3-year-old filly has won the Arima Kinen, following Star Roch in 1960. Jockey Keita Tosaki, who piloted Regaleira to victory, celebrated his second Arima Kinen title, having won the race in 2014 aboard Gentildonna.
